Why I Do This Work
A warm introduction to my new therapy practice - why I do this work, what therapy offers, and an invitation to begin a conversation if something in you is stirring.
I’ve just launched this website, and if you’ve found your way here - whether through a search, a recommendation, or just a quiet late-night scroll - welcome.
This blog is where I’ll be sharing reflections from time to time. Thoughts on therapy, on life, on being human. I don’t imagine I’ll post often - therapy, after all, is more about listening than talking - but I wanted to begin with a few words about why I do this work.
I became a therapist not because I had all the answers, but because I was drawn to the questions - the real ones. The ones we often carry alone.
I’ve always believed in the dignity of ordinary lives. I work with people who are struggling, yes - with grief, anxiety, relationships, questions of identity, regret, meaning - but also with people who are simply trying to make sense of where they are in life. There’s no right or wrong reason to come to therapy. If something in you is stirring - even faintly - that’s reason enough.
This website is a way of saying: I’m here. You’ll find information about how I work, who I work with, and how to get in touch. But more than that, I hope you’ll get a sense of who I am - because therapy, at its heart, is about relationship. It matters that we find someone we can sit with, talk to, be ourselves with.
If something here resonates, I’d be glad to hear from you.
Warmly,
Robert
